Watching coverage of the near-police state conditions on the ground in Ferguson, MO. My God...one police commentator observed that this looks like Egypt or something... He then speculated as to why the police seem to be ratcheting up their near-militaristic tactics. A rhetorical question, that: This would not be happening in a predominantly white community. For starters, an unarmed 18-year old young man would not have been shot dead as he walked to his grandmothers house if he had been white. Moreover, cops are just acting like the government of that town now, telling media they cannot film, tear gassing folk in folks own front yards, setting random curfews, and all the while refusing to release the name of the cop who murdered Michael Brown... Barry said it best: they are ratcheting it up to spark something even worse so they can just open fire on black people. The President needs to send some kind of intervention, IMO. This is not going to get better until something or someone with more power steps in to take the reins.
