Watching the news and hearing about how much our government wants to cut welfare benefits. On my Facebook feed every day my friends post and share memes about how they are sick and tired of supporting other freeloading people. I was on welfare. For two years all of you supported me and my daughter. You bought us food. You paid for our healthcare. I am sorry if we were such a burden to you. Years later I own a home and some land. I will be sending my daughter to college next year. I make a good living and am considered middle class. I would not be here if it wasnt for your handouts. Although I would think by now my tax dollars have paid back what I collected on welfare. But I know without those benefits I would not be where I am today. The truth is most people on welfare work. Only a very small percentage take advantage of the system yet we want to punish hardworking people who just need a little help. People that were like me. I was welfare. I am middle class.
