Water-100% subsidy for consumption below 700 litre and higher rate (cross subsidisation) for consumption above 700 litre i.e., you pay a high rate for the entire 701 litre if you breach the 700 line seemed like an excellent policy to fulfill dual objective of health/hygiene and ecological sustainability. 700 litre per household (150 litre per person) per day is not an arbitrary figure but quite accurate in terms of water conservation and an excellent way to achieve macro objectives through intelligent policies and well directed subsidies. Current per capital supply in Delhi is 223 litre and demand is 324 litre; whereas the average urban water use in US is 371 litre per person per day.Even various Indian and Un standards are close to this figure. Electricity- Rates reduced only for the first quarter, until CAG audits the discom. CM is confident that the rates would automatically be rolled back after the AUdit due to the misgivings of the Discom....................Anything wrong in both policies..????? Looks like a good initiative to me..??... What i dont agree- Reservation and welfare politics.. Cancellation of FDI in retail.ments..??
