Water boarding Challenge. I got nominated by Brandan Motions to do the ice-challenge. I figured Id modify the challenge in support of a different cause. In the midst of the recent atrocities committed by the Israeli defence force on palestinians in the gaza strip, just a few days into operation protective edge has seen a death toll of 103 (24 women and 23 children) and 780 wounded (230 women and 260 children) in so called targetted air strikes against ambiguously defined government militants. Not only is the gaza strip one of the most densely populated regions on earth, it is also essentially a prison, with its borders completely blockaded and no where to run. So you can imagine these airstrikes being analogous to the slaughter of fish in a barrel. To shed light on an issue which has been long standing for over 70 years, Ive just taken one aspect of israeli human rights violations on palestinians, that being water boarding illegally detained palestinian prisoners. This challenge however is not JUST about the latest events in the gaza strip. Its really a symbolism of all people around the world whos voices have been drowned out by media bias, lack of awareness, hessitance to make a stand by the most important powers in the world etc. My nominees for this challenge are 1.
