Waterford has lost one of its most talented artists. Well known musical theatre writer and director Bryan Flynn passed away earlier today after bravely batting cancer for a number of years. The 43 year old left a lasting theatre legacy by penning three originalmusical works that received critical acclaim - Pentimenti with its controversial subject matter being the Holocaust, hilarious GAA comedy The ALL STAR Wars which played to thousands around the country including the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, the Cork Opera House and of course at Bryans beloved hometown Theatre Royal and the massive stage spectacle Michael Collins, a musical portrayal of the political backdrop surrounding the big fella from Cork. Despite his advancing illness, Bryan had travelled to the Marble City to proudly watch as his original piece once again received fantastic applause from audiences each night. Bryan is survived by his parents Theresa and John, partner Yvonne, son Ben, daughter Ruby, brother David and sisters Sinead and Sharon.
