Waterford was the place to be tonight if you are a follower of Minor League Softball. Union City posted an 8-0 shutout of Harborcreek behind the hitting and pitching of Eliza Reynolds. In what has to be one of the most dominating performances ever in all star play anywhere, Eliza recorded all 18 outs via the strikeout. She walked five and gave up NO hits. If that wasnt enough, Eliza blasted a line drive that would still be rolling if it hadnt come in contact with the fence in left center field some 200 feet away. Reynolds, hustling all the way, ended up with an inside the Park home run. Catcher Julie Burger shook off her first game jitters by belting a double and a single. Coach Gilbert even got production farther down in the lineup from Sophia Messenger who belted a double into left center field that drove in the final Union City run... Just an all around awesome performance from top to bottom by the lady Bears. Here are a couple of gems from tonights ball game.
