Way way back in June 1994, I was elected as Number One Councilor in our Barangay (Community) and my term lasted on October 2007 ... I am a number one councilor for three consecutive terms... When our Barangay Chairman passed away I became the Chairwoman... I was a Public Servant for 13 years... This coming June 2017 I will retire from my work in a private company... Compulsory retirement is required when an employee reached the age of 55... And there will be a Barangay Election on October 2016... I am planning to run for Councilor again... I might avail my early retirement because of the election.... If given the chance , I want to continue my services to our constituents... I want to spend the rest of my life in the service to others ; to leave a legacy which will remind them of me ; of my contributions ; of my accomplishments and to make my life more meaningful and productive... i dont want to be idle after the retirement... But if there are other opportunities that will come my way before the election , I have to make a big decision... Just stating... Claro.. (borrowed the words of Mr. Mike Amaris... smile...)
