We Cant Bend Our Rules On Standards The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) says it has a mandate to enforce and checkmate the influx of sub- standards products into the country. The Director of Enforcement at the port operations, Engineer Bede Obayi, made this disclosure in a chat with Daily Trust explained that the agency is developing new strategy to check the influx of not only fake products, but also substandard ones. According to him, the organization sees enforcement as a task that must be done, since most importers are devising new methods of bringing in sub-standards products into the country on a daily bases. The Head of enforcement at the Port was reacting to the alleged arrest of containers on Lagos city roads by the SONs Enforcement unit by the Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) said that, neither him nor his Director General will carry out their duties to impede on rights of importers, but that SON must do its job.
