We Were Born Written By Helen Constantine We were born to share The many inventive things We think, do and say Our dreams, fears Laughter, joy and tears Across our given years We were born to share The life we know The changing seasons In their infinite flow To follow our heart Where’re it chooses to go We were born to share The path we’ll take The promises we’ll make And ultimately break With the many friends We’ll keep or forsake We were born to share The fading hues of twilight As evening curtains fall Whilst moonbeams dance In some enchanted trance To music from a fading tar We were born to share The peace we seek The words we speak The song of a lark A walk in the park A whisper in the dark We were born to share The wonder of new birth The fragrance of falling Rain on parched earth The haven we seek To rest and sleep We were born to share The seeds we sow To tend their need To nurture and feed Them as they grow We were born to drink From the fountain of life To let our hearts Take off in florid flight In the arms of a love We hope will be right We were born to share Land, sky, sea and air We’re the universe And this mortal sphere That’s the reason why We’re unique and here © All rights secured by Helen Constantine January 2014
