We all have many facets to our humanity. We have parts of us that - TopicsExpress

We all have many facets to our humanity. We have parts of us that are resilient, strong and confident and in tandem we have parts which are more afraid, vulnerable, insecure or injured. In order to achieve self-awareness we need to think about these differing parts of us and not pretend that the more vulnerable ones do not exist. Pain brings creativity and so there is no need to have shame around what is injured or more vulnerable. These parts do not make us less perfect, they make us more perfect. Whatever is emotional or hurt tends to be more immature so with self-awareness we can call on the more strong, resilient and confident parts of us to start a revolution to protect, control and help the injured parts of us. When we can call on these more mature facets we are able to communicate from our vulnerabilities with a sense of composure, dignity and worth. It is amazing how many act out of their emotional injuries with such little self-control or awareness, and the immaturity which comes along with this...it is this exact immaturity which gets these injured parts re-injured with rejection. Self-awareness is having the ability to not react but to have the opportunity, with a sense of worth, to become real. Injured emotions are like two-year-olds...they need discipline but they also need love. If you want true and lasting change, become aware of all of your parts. Love yourself.
