We all have our stories.........my turning point was at the beginning, when a driver panicked and we almost had a 4 car pile up on S Oyster Bay Road......that was day time...........the clincher for me was after the clocks changed, and I was in New Hyde Park, an area I dont know all that well, but those of you who live there, you know Marcus, Hillside, etc, take concentration....it was rush hour, almost 5 pm, and we were bumper to bumper, so I had an idea to take side streets to get to OCR and would take it home to Plainview.............every time I turned, down by Winthrop Hosp, and every turn after that, I was squinting to see where signs would be coming up.......some of the streets I was on were fairly well traveled, so speed was a consideration, and I sweated my way through areas with schools I never knew existed.............Many of us are good drivers, and it was a dangerous distraction, but we know there are adequate drivers, or worse, and this find the sign experience was horrific......Like everyone, the money was offensive to me, but Im looking to driving once again and enjoying it as much as always have.....
