“We already have fish-consumption advisories for all of Michigan’s inland lakes because of mercury pollution,” said Mike Berkowitz, legislative & political director for the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter. “It’s a good step forward that we’re beginning to capture more mercury before it goes into our air, but these bills would undermine that progress by spreading mercury all over the state in roadbeds and under driveways.”
