We are adopting Firebase (the real-time database) for all our Web, - TopicsExpress

We are adopting Firebase (the real-time database) for all our Web, Hybrid, iPhone and Android Classes and development: https://firebase/ From now on we will teach Firebase in all our classes in addition to MongoDB. We will also use it our development as well. The reasons are as follows: 1. In 2015 the web will be moving towards real time web as Web Sockets and WebRTC is being deployed in all major browsers and we will need a real time database with it. The only other choice is Meteor which is a full stack framework. We need something which will work seamlessly with Angular as well as iPhone and Android. Firebase has SDKs for Angular, iPhone and Android etc. 2. Internet of Things (IoT) will also need a real time database. 3. Its scalability has already been proven. 3. Google has acquired Firebase which means it will have the necessary support in the future and full support and integration with web and at a minimum Android is guaranteed. The only downside is that we will be locked into this database service which we cannot install on our own servers and is not open source. But right now Firebase is the only real time data service or database in the world, it is unique therefore we dont have a choice if we want to go real-time.
