We are all engaged in an experiment to determine how much, if any, solar activity has to do with climate. During the coldest decades of the Little Ice Age, the sun had few sunspots over decades. Sunspots return correlated with the rise in temperatures. Today, world temperatures have recovered only half the drop experienced when it dropped from the Medieval Warm Period (when Greenland was green, and England grew grapes) into the Little Ice Age. Today, too, the world has been cooling for over fifteen years and the sun has been sunspot shy.
