We are at 69,782 words in our sequel to Legend of Aurora. Heres an excerpt from Chapt. 15 of Aurora Invasion. Coming soon to a book store near you. --- Dare studied at the flight path of the three alien ships on the images down linked from the Garrin. The digital readout of their latitude and longitude accompanied the radar-like returns from the enemy vessels as they tracked across the empty expanses of the Southeast Pacific Basin. He marveled at the ground speed readout—9,132 miles per hour. The numbers representing the minutes and seconds of latitude scrolled by so fast, they were a blur. His eyes fell on the longitude presentation. Curiously, it was displaying 99° 00 00 W and appeared to be locked there. Thats odd. They are flying over open water, bypassing the southern tip of South America. I wonder whats so interesting at ninety-nine degrees west? Blaze had donned her black form-fitting space suit again except for the big-eyed helmet. Her long red hair was still wet and tied back in a pony tail that dripped down her suit and had left a trail back to the womens showers. She stopped in Dares office to give him a good luck kiss, as she always did before they launched into harms way. She caught the thought he was contemplating and stopped short in the doorway as the answer struck her like a bolt of lightning. Oh my God! Eagle Nest is on the ninety-ninth meridian…Theyre coming after us! Dare spun around to face her when he heard Mikes voice from down the hallway. Whos comin after us? The Reptoids, Blaze turned to her brother and replied. Look at the flight path. They both stepped in to Dares office. Mike looked at the present position. How the hell could they know? Well, like Shakespere said in Hamlet, There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Mike looked at Blaze, shook his head and did the calculations in his head almost instantly. Yeah…We got roughly forty-four minutes until they are overhead. Plenty of time to launch and get into position…even all the reserves Dare nodded. Right…Jesus…we have to get your mom and dad away from here, right now. Dont you think they would be safe in the underground bunkers here? asked Mike. Lucy stepped into the office. The Reptoids pulse lasers could turn the whole of Eagle Nest into a lake of seething lava if they get past us. We can send a M-800 out with them and the Secret Service detail, offered Dare. That will not be necessary. Ill arrange for them to be transported to Excalibur. They should be safe there. Of course. Ill call them, Dare said. No. Ill attend to it in person. As Mike said, we have a little while to prepare. You see to your people and Ill take care of the President. Good idea. Ill join you two in formation, she said to Mike and Blaze as she tapped her bracelet and promptly disappeared. tinyurl/LegendAurora-E
