We are building a Contact Improvisation community in Bangkok! Whether you are a dance lover, a theater lover, an aspiring performance artist, an avid mover/martial artists, or someone who just likes to dance, irregardless of forms, styles or traditions and are open to exploring the somatic and kinesthetic side of movement and the potential for creating performance art and communal experience, we try to make this space available for you! Our main platform is the alternate-weekly Contact Improv Jams (see guidelines below) held at Fitness7 on Saturdays. We are using this facebook page to share information about events, classes, special workshops, videos and more resources on Contact Improvisation. Wed love to reach out to the dance and performance community at large in Bangkok to share your art with us. Our main teachers Ong and Olya and the organizer team are willingly happy to share our practice of dance and CI techniques and are eager to bring in guest artists for new ideas. Contact Improv Jam We meet every other Saturdays at 5:30pm-7.30pm. The lab goes for 2 hours and starts with a group warm-up, explore some scores and jam. Since we are a relatively young CI community, we also like to introduce CI principles/techniques and the creative/artistic side of the art form and invite visiting teachers/artists to share ideas. Its practically a jam+lab. You will see a big sign 7 next to the 7 Eleven. Cost? 150B-300B sliding scale (pay-as-you-can). Typically people have been paying 200B for easy change.
