We are building something epic in a medium-sized warehouse space on the outskirts of Winter Park. It is not easy to find right away or altogether pleasant at first. You have to drive by the rough-looking air-conditioning technicians with their forklifts, copious cigarette smoking, and curious stares. Its so...industrial, some have said with a subtle expression of misplaced superiority and disdain in their countenance. Some did not even make it to the front door. Many friends told me they would stop by and at least see the place that I was now so proud to call my second home. Most of them never showed. You have to WANT to find it. Some did...but did not stay. Many people have come and gone in the short year that we have been operating. Some just wanted to try CrossFit or utilize the free week of exercise with no intention of signing up...and thats OK. They may have learned something about or proved something to themselves that week. Some used the deal of the month on Living Social or Groupon and now they are on to the next place and the next deal. Im sure they will continue looking for their answers because they have not yet begun to ask themselves the right questions. Many who tried a workout could not see past their temporary discomfort to the significance of what it meant or where it could lead. They did not understand that what was happening to them in that very moment was deeply psychological, deeply soulful, and sometimes even spiritual. They did not realize that the way they handled this challenge was a reflection and a microcosm of the way they have handled many other challenges in life and this was their opportunity to break the pattern. Perhaps it was not yet their time or they were not called to this space. It is no matter. We are building something epic in a medium-sized warehouse space on the outskirts of Winter Park.
