We are continuous in touch with other Organizations and individuals who are working in relief work in Uttarakhand. At this juncture, our aim is very much clear that we should put our energy/resources collectively for the help of affected families. On the basis of inputs received from various organization and individuals, the most affected areas are (Vijaynagar, Chandrapuri- Ukhimath-Phata belt) in Rudraprayag District, Govindghat, Tharali, Ghat in Chamoli District, Uttarkashi, Ghansali, Pratapnagar, Dev Prayag in Tehri District, Dharchula, Bageshwar, Lohaghat in Pithoragarh Distrcit and Almora District. Besides, other area also affected. The major concerns are as follows: Current Needs: 1) Shelter to those people who lost their home. 2) Essential medicinal kits & Doctors. 3) Food Items. 4) Volunteers to carry those stuff and work there Other Needs: 1) Utensils and stoves/fuel for making foods. 2) Motor Road/Foot road/Rope ways for connectivity from affected village 3) Electricity in affected area so that relief operation could not affect. 4) Warm cloth, blankets for forthcoming winter session. 5) Education kit (stationary, books, bags etc) for kids. 6) Alternate arrangement for school, if school building destroyed. 7) Alternate source of income for affected family for their long term needs. 8) Need based infrastructure/Household items in the village. 9) Re-construction of Houses/Schools Long Term Need: 1) A early warning system and mechanism to prevent such disaster 2) A Quick action need and plan to act in such condition in well coordinated manner We are working on these aspects and taking suggestions, help of other concerned organizations/stakeholders. Suggestions/inputs are requested from all individuals so that better work can be done. Regards
