We are delighted to welcome Pastor Nikki and Scott Fielder back to the LRCC family. They will be joining the staff as Assistant Camp Directors at El Camino Pines on November 10, 2014. Nikki and Scott are no strangers to LRCC and the camp world as they first met one another as summer staff in 2004. They went on to work six summers from 2004-2009 as counselors and program staff. Following their wedding in June 2010, they couldn’t bear the thought of missing a summer at camp so they spent 3 weeks volunteering at ECP. Both point to their experiences at LRCC as instrumental in helping them to discern their call to pastoral ministry. To say they love camp is an understatement. In many ways, being called to LRCC is a homecoming. Nikki and Scott are California natives. Nikki grew up at Hope Lutheran Church in Temecula and Scott called Mount Calvary Lutheran in Cypress his church home. Both graduates of California Lutheran University with Bachelors degrees in Religion, Nikki and Scott braved the Midwest as they went on to receive their Masters of Divinity with special focus in Children, Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary. They began their ministry among the Frozen Chosen in Minnesota. Nikki most recent call was as Associate Pastor of Family Faith Formation at Christ Lutheran in Marine on St. Croix, MN. Scott was most recently serving as Youth Director at St. Paul Lutheran in Stillwater, Minnesota. Nikki and Scott are partners in everything, including their callings to ministry. They both have deep commitments to nurturing faith in young people, camping ministry, collaborative work, and living authentic lives of faith. They are deeply honored and beyond thrilled to join the ministry of LRCC. They believe in the the ministry, leadership and the mission of LRCC, and are hopeful for the work God will accomplish in and through them as they serve in this new venture.
