We are excited that one of our Mentoring Positives Alumni who is attending the University of Northern Illinios University will be one of the Community Ambassadors Fellows. After two years of researching and presenting our findings on racial disparities in Dane County, we are excited to announce the launching of Race to Equity’s Community Ambassadors Fellowship. With generous funding from a Forward Community Investments Social Equity grant, five fellows will come together to work on social equity issues. The goal of the fellowship is to ensure that every resident in Dane County has access to the Race to Equity report and other important information and how these findings affect their life chances. Community Ambassadors, who are engaged citizens, will lead conversations, discussions, and presentations within their communities. Community members will have the opportunity to provide feedback and assist with finding solutions to address racial disparities in Dane County. The Community Ambassador program will focus on four areas: Darbo Worthington, Southwest, Allied Drive, and the North side. The fellowship will also provide professional development, networking opportunities, and leadership capacity building for the fellows and their communities. Each fellow will be paid a stipend for their contribution to making Dane County a better place for all families. Look for more updates in the coming months.
