We are facing another mini polar vortex. Its ONLY suppose to be minus 20 below windchills this time. HA! Its all cold if you ask me. Anyway. Em is loving the family room in the basement. Christian got it put together last night. Instead of locked away in her room, shes downstairs on the much loved futon. Shes able to interact with family on her terms and yet be out of her room. We use this room for therapy type things too, just laid out much differently... more homey now. As Em put it, comfy cozy and not her room. This morning she put on a turtlenecked (loose necked) sweater dress. I wasnt sure how she would react to the material around her neck. I know sometimes she has major sensory issues with clothing. So we put a t-shirt on underneath just in case. She is still in it almost 12 hours later. SUCCESS! It could be the soft material though too. Matt and I had some much needed down time today. No kids and lots of quiet. It was nice to be able to just connect and know that there wasnt going to be a screaming match or meltdown or issue that we had to contend with unless it was a phone call. Its finals week for Christian, then a new schedule next week. Hes so excited to be done with gym class until next year. Em has her make up f/t this week so we are going over lots of social stories with different scenarios. Em also has an appt. Wed. with the psych to look over the meds and supplements and have some discussions as to some goals for the rest of the school year. Busy busy week ahead. Hopefully you had an amazing day. Tomorrow is a new day and an early one at that! Who knows how Em will be tomorrow. Its all good though!
