We are fortunate to have some active Port Alberni based Facebook groups for information sharing. However over the last week during the storms and flooding it would have been nice if our local Emergency Preparedness Personnel had been more engaged on social media informing the public of road closures, power outages, water turbidity levels, etc. Is there any possibility the ACRD or City could play a more active, visible role on social media outlets when people are concerned and looking for official information?
