We are glad to have a new Fayetteville part time sitter and walker! She just finished a house sitting job today in fact and brings a more complete set of solutions we can offer in the NWA area! Not only is she doing pet sitting, house sitting, and dog walking she is donating hours to the Solgave Project and about to visit all the local shelters and animal organizations to hand out flyers, make sure the folks are educated and plead for help in spreading the word on the first initiative The Yellow Dog Project Everyone say hi to Ellie!! I grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and moved to Northwest Arkansas in January of 2009 to attend the University of Arkansas. Animals have had a special place in my heart for as long as I can remember. As a child, I remember rescuing beetles, frogs and other little creatures that I found injured in our backyard or in our pool, and at the age of seven, coming from a family of omnivores, I decided to act on my feelings of protection for animals by adjusting my dietary habits. At twelve years old I had my first pet sitting job for a family in our neighborhood and since then have cared for several friends’, co-workers’ and family-friends’ pets. Having recently graduated with a degree in English, focusing on Creative Writing, I am preparing to embark on my grand adventure which will start in Cambodia next spring and continue for as many countries, weeks, months or years as my heart tells me is right. In the mean time I am very excited to work with Jared, Sunniva and the rest of the Solgave family with the sittings and walkings, in addition to helping in whatever way I can with The Solgave Project. Since extensive travel plans make pet ownership more complicated I have limited myself to one furry friend at this time. Her name is Willow, and she is a lot of love in a tiny package. Especially after seeing her comradery with a kitten we fostered last summer, I look forward to the day that we can add another companion into our lives, but for now I get to enjoy building the bond between the two of us. Once again, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with this team and their wonderful philosophy, as well as with the clients (both of the human and non-human variety). I look forward to meeting you!
