We are happy to announce that we are partnering with Fahari Arts Institute, who is proud to present the 5th Annual Marlon Riggs Film Festival. The Marlon Riggs Film Festival is two days of films inspired by the work of award-winning Fort Worth activist/filmmaker, the late Marlon Riggs. The festival features films that examine Riggs major contribution to the film industry i.e. expanding its films depicting the Black gay community, while simultaneously exploding myths about the GLBT community for the Black community and includes stimulating post-screening talk-backs. Please come join us Saturday, February 22, at 7:00pm for the North Texas Premiere of Keep the Promise. Narrated by Margaret Cho, Keep The Promise: The Global Fight Against AIDS is a music/protest documentary that profiles advocates from around the world who attended the Keep The Promise Rally & March, that unfolded in Washington, DC during July 2012 as part of AIDS Healthcare Foundations lively presence at the 19th International AIDS Conference. After the screening of Keep the Promise there will be a panel discussion with local AIDS activist, International AIDS conference participants and Helen Zimba from AIDS Healthcare Foundation. The panelist will be moderated by Eric Reece, Program Director for Abounding Prosperity. Onsite HIV testing will be provided by AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Please come join us for an evening of great cinema an conversation. We look forward to seeing you there!
