We are impetuous nomads. Bugs look upon my windshield and despair. - TopicsExpress

We are impetuous nomads. Bugs look upon my windshield and despair. Jean and I and our dog Mook left last Thursday in our truck and camper for what was to be a 350 mile trip to see relatives. We returned this evening after logging right at 1,500 miles. We saw kin we hadnt seen for many years, watched some gifted and serious noodlers pull two 35 pound flat heads out of a river in Oklahoma, drove through parts of Arkansas most people will never see, made a serious but unsuccessful effort to find diamonds at Diamond Crater State Park, camped in incredibly beautiful places and experienced the kindness of complete strangers who managed in those few days to restore my faith in humanity. After 18 years of the Country Stampede, this was indeed a delightful alternative. My phone rang twice during the trip and neither had anything to do with someone wanting out of jail. I had almost forgotten what if felt like to be free. Our faces hurt from grinning all the time. We have a few things to clean up, then we will go again. This time perhaps someplace cooler and less humid. . .
