We are in the middle of kitten season. The calls are coming in now every day as people find litters of kittens abandoned in boxes or just found in ditches or at the side of the road. to-day we had kittens found in a barrel in an old box factory. Many of these kittens are feral and have never been handled. Last year we had more that 100 cats and kittens in the Sanctuary by mid summer. Overcrowding brings its own problems as the spread of viruses and bacteria is difficult to control. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Sanctuary who bottle feed and try and save every living kitten and puppy that comes through our doors. We ask for your support and patience as we continue to do our best to answer all calls. If the lines are busy please leave a message and we will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible. We will always accept Veterinary charges for animals injured and left on the roadside to die. We can only make this commitment for the abandoned and injured animals of Limerick city and county.
