We are just average everyday people that investigate paranormal claims in a technical manner, nothing more, nothing less. We are not demonlogists, spiritual advisors or consultants, experts in the field or “certified” ghost hunters , beware of people that claim to be. There are many in this field that like to toot their own horn, claim to be something they are not, etc. Lets start with the “experts” -There are some that have been in the field longer than others or have more experience that others but this does not make them experts. There may be experts in certain aspects of investigating, audio, photography but that just makes them experts on that subject, not on hauntings or “ghosts” if you will. After all how can someone claim to be an expert on something that can’t be proven with 100% certainty to exist in the first place? Moving on to “spiritual advisors/consultants and certified ghost hunters”-I’d like to respond to this but I don’t even know what the hell those are and I sure as hell don’t know what classes you take or what university you go to in order to become “certified” Believe it or not there are online course you can take in ghost hunting, demonology and others (scary right?). Don’t misunderstand me, there’s nothing wrong with trying to learn or become educated on such things. I read just about everything I can on the subject in order to understand and get insight but that doesn’t make me an expert or certified in anything. I could also read a lot about the medical field and diseases but would you want me to diagnose or treat your next illness? I didn’t think so. In recent years this field has gotten off track somehow. It’s become less about studying, researching and educating and more about who has the most facebook likes and how many television shows you can be featured on. Anyone that has been in this field of study for a while and even those of you that aren’t and just follow it have noticed there’s a lot of drama and bullshit within the paranormal community these days. Try to steer clear of the drama and don’t feed into it and learn to recognize the bullshit for what is it, just bullshit. As far as the tv shows, continue to show if you want, they’re great entertainment but keep in mind a lot of the magic you see is done through editing. This is not to say there aren’t great investigators out there doing great things, there are and I’ve meet many along the way that I have a lot respect for. These are the people that will continue to do just what they’re doing now no matter what crap is going on within the paranormal community. There will continue to research, study, think outside the box, run experiments and test theories; furthering this field of study rather than holding it back. ~BRB
