We are living in an extremely connected world. Technology has eased our lives yet it also has hampered the good old practices. At times because of the ease of use, we have a tendency to adapt to it and there can be a factor of less involvement. Some practices can in a way be a bit irreverential too. 1) We tend to use acronyms like OMG, HS,PTL which in a way can be dishonoring the sacred holy exalted name of God. Worship also involves the language and expression we use. So type” Praise the Lord”, “Holy Spirit” and never confine them to easy usage. 2) As we have the Holy Bible inside our smartphones as an APP, we tend to neglect the leather bound scriptures. His word is high and exalted. It’s settled forever in heavens. It’s not an equivalent with other apps. We should encourage the usage of the leather bound scriptures however modern we can get. 3) Watsapp conversations and instant messaging are easy but it’s always hearty when we take time to call one another, exchange greetings and talk. 4) While making online donations and contributions always do it with a thankful and reverential heart. God looks at the heart. 5) Online services are an easier way of participating in church services, but being physically present in a fellowship of saints is always necessary and blessings are essentially there. Think and note down some other ways in which we can have more of reverence in what we say and do. 1 Samuel 2:30 “for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”
