Position : Deputy Director Primary Healthcare Reporting to : COO Age : 35-50 years Positions reporting : Program Manager Location : Nigeria Work time : Monday to Saturday (9.00am to 6:00pm) Flexibility of work time is a necessity for this function and cannot be limited to the working hours Education: MBBS+ Diploma degree in Public Health or equivalent Experience: At least 15-20 years of experience working with large public health programs; experience in maternal and child health required Salary Offered: Best in industry. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: *Responsible for sustainability of operations of the PHC programs. *Design and execute the PHC programs *Actively network and liaison with the partner for efficient program delivery. *Focus on Quality and cost effective implementation. *Local capacity building to ensure smooth transition. *Responsible for all the targeted program deliveries. TASK LIST: *Ensure that all project interventions and activities reflect best available evidence for improving maternal, infant, and child health outcomes *Translate and disseminate evidence-based recommendations and strategies into simple and effective guides for project staff (e.g., health workers) *Develop roster of trainings for project staff to continuously reinforce best practices among field staff *Lead regular team meetings of program managers to share technical information so that state-of-the-art interventions are applied consistently across all project interventions *Minimum 25% travel to project sites required to monitor implementation, provide technical guidance to program managers, and facilitate training sessions with project staff *Develop strategic partnerships with service providers (e.g., hospitals) at the local and state levels to strengthen referral mechanisms and deliver other supportive health services *Regular reporting to CEO and Trustee on overall program performance including key results and achievements, improvement areas, and recommendations *Work with the GM - Marketing to translate the technical performance and progress of the project into documents and other formats for donors and other key stakeholders *Work with CFO and Director- Administration to provide technical guidance in the preparation of budgets related to primary care activities *Work with the Director - Administration on personnel issues, including recruiting, hiring, retention, and conflict resolution *Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation unit to establish standardized indicators and targets across primary care sites *Assist unit to implement M&E framework at program sites including staff training (program managers, health workers etc) and preparation of data collection tools as needed *Analyse indicators provided by M&E unit to identify problems in the field and their causes; recommend changes or additional interventions as needed to meet program goals *Work with M&E unit to prepare regular reports for CEO, program managers, and other stakeholders *Establish and maintain close relationships with other MCH programs in Nigeria and internationally to ensure that the project remains current on new developments in research, policy, and practice *Promote the projects activities and disseminate project results to the international MCH community through participation in conferences and seminars ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: All PHC staff members and TCF HO External: Vendors, Partners Donors, Government Agencies.
