We are looking for a Senior Analytics for a one year contract based in Edmonton. Senior Analytics Role Description Responsibilities - Lead, develop and define the optimum systems and operational framework required to meet current and future analytics requirements. - To create measured value through data analytics from across the ministry - Mine data to deliver insights, support decision making and facilitate strategic business planning - Focus on understanding predictive analytics, lifetime value and needs-based analytics strategies - To simplify, consistently produce and re-use analytical models and assets to drive measurable value - Help executives and decision makers to deeply understand their operations, transactions, services and identify new opportunities that can only be uncovered through analytics - To provide depth and insight to data produced by the various teams - - Ensure delivery processes are robust, of high quality and repeatable - Bring knowledge of statistical classification techniques such as k means and hierarchical clustering, partition trees, and logistic regression. - Developing and measuring success metrics for key projects and updates - Strategic agility and the ability to make sense of large amounts of disparate data and to tell a cohesive story focused on key strategic decision-making for executives - Integrate both quantitative and qualitative data to create business insights - Design and create dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs - Insight discovery – gaining insights and making sense of large amount of data Skills & Experience - - Leadership skills. The new function is designed not only to serve the analytics needs of the entire enterprise but to help the organization transform into an insight driven business - Create an innovative and inspiring vision for analytics and reporting - Energize the team; selling the Vision and driving / empowering teams and the broader business to action - Proven track record of delivering commercially beneficial insights and analytics strategies to large businesses and or governments - Desire to take a leading role in shaping the new analytics organization, - Passionate about analytics and the ability to transform a business through information exploitation - Numerically brilliant – both from a commercial and analytics perspective - A hunger to learn more about the latest analytics tools and techniques, and an ability to translate this into true business action and value - An understanding of Web-based Analytics, Spatial Analytics and Predictive Analytics & Segmentation as well as traditional large-scale data warehouse driven analytics - Experience of working with in-house and external technology teams - Experience of effective use of third party organizations to deliver analytics - An ability to understand complex businesses questions, and to be able to frame the right analytical question to solve a business problem - Providing leadership and hands-on support to orientate analytics around delivering value back to the business - Broad industry experience is desirable but not essential - A natural communicator – being able to communicate across the business right up to executive level and translating the strategic analytics vision into action within the organization - Experience with and understanding of the application of statistical methods such as regression, significance testing, and other methods to address key business issues - Be extremely analytical and quantitative and very comfortable building models - Experience with professional research methodologies - Experience working across both business and technology - Written presentation skills to present insights in plain language and images - Experience setting and monitoring both business and website objectives - Strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to communicate findings to both business and IT leaders in a way that can influence how an organization approaches a business challenge. - Ability to pick the right problems to solve - Experience suggesting site optimizations and site metrics to help accomplish business goals If interested, please forward your resume along with expected hourly rate and availability.
