We are not calling it an accident, or a disaster, but an act of terrorism. A Malaysia Airlines passenger plane with 295 aboard was shot down today by a surface-to-air missile in Ukraine near the Russian border a day after a Ukrainian military jet was downed. The Boeing 777 bound for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from Amsterdam was carrying among it 23 US citizens according to its flight manifest. The flights black box has been sent to Moscow for further research at this time. However, according to the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces, the airplane was shot down by the Russian Buk missile system as the liner was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters [33,000 feet]. Also stating that the Ukraine has no long-range air defense missile systems in this area. The self-titled Self-defence forces of the Donetsk Peoples Republic boasted in June 29 press release of having taken control of Buk missile defense systems. The Buk, or SA-11 missile launchers, have a range of up to 72,000 feet. The plane was shot down, because the Russian air defense systems was affording protection to Russian mercenaries and terrorists in this area. Ukraine will present the evidence of Russian military involvement into the Boeing crash as thing continue to unfold. Since Monday, a Ukrainian An-26 cargo plane was shot down. Late Wednesday, a Ukrainian Su-25 fighter jet crashed, though it could not be confirmed if it was shot down. The Associated Press reported that the rebels intend to call 3-day cease-fire to allow a probe of the incident. Also we musnt forget that on March 8, Malaysia Air Flight MH370 vanished with 239 people on board (3 US citizens) after it took off from Kuala Lampur bound for Beijing. Malaysian officials said the plane disappeared somewhere in the Southern Indian Ocean, but no wreckage has ever been recovered.
