We are offering a beautiful coming two year old Arab/Quarter Horse filly for sale. Sorry for the long read but please read the entire ad before replying. Pumpkin was a rescue that my daughter and her friend took in but sadly realized they got in over their heads (financially, not realizing the cost involved in caring for a horse) so she is now looking for a new home. When this girl came to us just under three months ago she was emaciated. We gave her a body score of no more than a 2 and she was literally skin and bones and full of worms. She has since put on a lot of weight and although she still has a little ways to go to be 100%, she’s looking really good. Pumpkin is a very pretty sorrel filly with a beautiful flaxen mane and tail. She has the dainty Arab build and look and when fully matured, should be a medium/large pony. This filly is GORGEOUS when she moves! She’s ALL Arab in her movements and just floats when she runs with that beautiful high tail carriage. She’s going to be very flashy under saddle and definitely turn some heads. Pumpkin has an AMAZING temperament and is an ABSOLUTE sweetheart! She is extremely quiet and will just stand there with the lead rope hanging over her neck when you groom. She is always the first to great you, will follow you around everywhere and can’t get enough attention. She is easy to catch, halter broke, leads, ties and loves to be groomed. She loaded like a dream when we picked her up to bring her here and she was great to haul. She is also good with her feet and was well behaved for the farrier. Quarabs are known for being amazing all around horses excelling in both the English and western disciplines. We would love to find her a home as a 4H prospect but we are open to other homes. We are not in a rush to sell her and will not be selling her to the first person that contacts us. Since this little girl is very special to our daughter, we would like to find her a very special home that is willing to offer a first by back option if they decide to sell her in the future. We would also prefer that interested buyers come and see her first before saying that they’ll take her. We would rather her go to a home thats looking for a new prospect for themselves over someone that’s looking to train and resell her. This young lady deserves her forever home since she’s been through so much in less than two years. The pictures posted of Pumpkin were taken today (March 29). She still has a little ways to go to be “perfect” physically but as you know, bringing a horse back from that condition takes time and she’s making leaps and bounds! The black horse pictured is her sire who is a registered Arab stallion and the buckskin is her dam who is a Quarter/Percheron cross. Pumpkin was dewormed last weekend and will have her feet trimmed before going to her new home. She will also come with her Part Arab registry application. We are not looking to make money from the sale and although she is not “free”, she is very reasonably priced to the right home.
