We are officially announcing our War Versus Peace Scholarship - TopicsExpress

We are officially announcing our War Versus Peace Scholarship topic for 2014. The topic: What War Stole. Two autumns ago, Luna Negra Magazine offered three scholarships for the most effective poems on the theme of peace versus war. We are pleased to announce that we will again be offering this opportunity to the students of Kent State University. This scholarship is made possible by a generous donation by Ohio poet and artist John Paul Kusnir. Kusnir attended Kent State in 1966, was drafted and served in Vietnam from 1966-69 and returned to Kent State in 1973. The intention of this contest is to reopen a dialogue with the current generation of Kent State students on the topic of peace versus war. We are looking for poems, no longer than a page, with a creative and thoughtful interpretation on the theme what war stole. Interested students should email their submission to lunanegramag@gmail, with a short bio, no later than December 1, 2014. 1st place wins $1,000 2nd place wins $500 3rd place wins $250
