We are on our way from sunny Spain, yeah right! To Bilbao. we are driving through falling snow, a real winter wonderland. Very foggy and minus 1 degree but we are warm on the bus. It is very pretty outside, salt is being spread on the roads and the snow vehicles are keeping the roads clear. We are supposed to be having a party on the beach tonight. At least we wont have to worry about getting the wine cold. Last night we spent a couple of hours looking for one of our party who had taken the wrong bus into town. She got a taxi back safe and sound but caused a few anxious moments for a wee while. We all then went to the cafe at the hotel for a quick meal and a few laughs. We are on the countdown for home now. Another couple of days and we lose our driver, the lovely Italian Umbrogio. He has made our trip very interesting and entertaining. Our tour director puts us on the train for Paris and we say goodbye to him at that stage. He is the European tour expert. What he doesnt know we dont need to know either. Everything happens exactly as he says it will and so no major dramas. The perfect person to have on your side. His job in life is to look after us and keep us safe and to make sure we enjoy everything each city has to offer. We get to see the Guggenheim museum later today. I have seen way too many churches, enough to last more than a lifetime. I wasnt keen on Madrid, I felt a bit wary here. I didnt feel too well either so maybe that was the reason. I think I hit the wall so to speak. I was just so tired. I skipped the paella dinner, I dont like seafood anyway, and went to bed about 7.30pm and woke about 6 the next morning, got a decent breakfast and was fine again. Never underestimate a good nights sleep on tour. No more falling snow but it is still white outside, like a giant wedding cake with green embellishments. Talking of which, I have looked everywhere for any place that sells stuff to make my cards with just so I can get something different to take home, but so far, I have found zilch. Maybe that kind of thing is in the outer lying suburbs, which we just dont have the time to get to. We havent done much shopping because things always look great in the country of origin but when you get them home they just dont fit in. I did buy a few small bits and pieces and Graeme bought himself a leather jacket that looks great. Sold to him in Florence by an Australian woman. How strange is that. Coffee break coming up and it is now 3degrees so getting warmer. Take care. Catch you all later. Raewyn and Graemexxxxx
