We are pleased to announce a generous award from the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town program for Antelope Valley Art Outpost. Did you know that the Antelope Valley encompasses over one half of LA County and stretches 2,200 square miles? It is home to over 500,000 residents many of whom live in rural, more sparsely populated unincorporated areas of the region — each community with distinct character and natural landscapes. In collaboration with: Suzanne Lacy and the Otis College of Art and Design MFA in Public Practice Program, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH), Michael D. Antonovich and the Department of Regional Planning, Outpost will utilize artist-led community engagement, artwork creation and sustainability planning to assure that healthy and authentic community identities are reflected the vision for the Antelope Valley (AV) region. We cannot wait to support and expand the creative energy of AV! Read the full press release here: arts.gov/news/2014/2014-nea-our-town-projects-receive-more-5-million-support
