We are requesting all of your healing thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow. CatNap took in a stray cat that had been thrown from a car in June. That cat, who we named Icarus, is at the vet awaiting some pretty serious surgery tomorrow. In the past week, we noticed him having some labored breathing and we had him for a chest X-ray today. It was determined that poor Icarus has a herniated diaphragm--his intestines have squeezed through the hernia and are crowding his lungs in his chest cavity. The only option besides euthanasia is a very serious and risky surgery. The vets have only seen this a handful of times and are willing to do the surgery (which will more than likely collapse his lung and require a chest tube) at a deep discount in order to learn and save his life. He can use all the good vibes, mojo and prayers we can gather. Thank you for sharing, caring and for believing in what we do for these amazing animals at CatNap.
