We are safely home from our latest weekend of field trials. Casey - TopicsExpress

We are safely home from our latest weekend of field trials. Casey was the only one who managed to get called back for second series this weekend. He had a very nice run in first series today, got called back in 4th place, and that is where he ended up. I guess that he thinks white rosettes are especially pretty. ;-) Couper is lodging a formal complaint because he had lane bunnies both days. He was NOT pleased! It was actually kind of amusing to watch him take the scent line a few feet on the lane, clearly indicating that he knew the bunny had, indeed, been there, and then insist on going into the square so that he could root around in the cover. Our judges today noted that he had on his pouty face, which was definitely true. I tried to assure Coupe that there will be other field trials, and that he was sure to eventually get a bunny that was in the brush, rather than on the lane. Sadly for him, you must track the bunny you were dealt. He was NOT amused. Tulsa started showing signs of a possible bladder infection on Friday, after we were already on our way to the trials. I dont think she was feeling her best, especially today. I havent seen any signs of blood, just an exceptional amount of wet crate bedding from her the past 3 days. I will be catching a urine sample from her in the morning (she will NOT be amused!!), and will either get her in to see Dr. Bozeman, or if she isnt available, we will make an appointment at I-20. Need to get my little girlie feeling better. Wilco enjoyed meeting some folks that he hadnt seen before. He continues to be on crate rest, much to his dismay. Keeping him warm was a challenge. He spent most of the weekend in his lovely coat from Dachshund Delights, which helped significantly. I will make a point of also taking along some warming discs to future trials. Poor little fellow just doesnt have an extra ounce of body fat to keep him warm! I think its time to put the next load of crate laundry into the dryer, and then go to bed. Looking forward to sleeping on my Tempurpedic tonight!!
