We are setting here at Mercy in Des Moines with our oldest son Jeff. Jeff had a serious car accident earlier this evening and was life-flighted to Des Moines. He lost control of his convertible in loose gravel and his car rolled multiple times. Jeff stays with the Van Patten family during the week while he is taking his pre-med classes and their daughter was with him, today was her 14th birthday. Jeff has a lot of head trauma and a fracture in c4. We have 2 surgery consults first thing this morning and a long road ahead. Bailey has a surgical consult for facial injuries tomorrow as well. Bailey was his angel. She got herself out of the car, tried to get him out and then walked to a nearby house to get help. She is an amazing young lady. We are so thankful for the Van Patten family for staying with Jeff when he needed us the most. Thanks just isnt enough. We are so blessed this evening and grateful for our friends and family who stood hand in hand with us. And a very special thank you to Jay Pratt, and the Mercy staff. Amazing people. Thank you for all the prayers and thank god. One more reason to never let your praying knees get lazy!
