We are so fortunate we did not elect the senator from Arizona as President because under him we would be at war with Iran, Syria and interfered in Libya and Egypt and now mw would have been fighting Russia. Hi first impulse in anything is to send in the troops. Wars are expensive. Especially when we are supplying both sides. In Vietnam when we could not get gear we needed we would go down to Dogpatch (a village of plywood and cardboard outside of Danang) and buy FSN gear from the natives. I suggested we seize this gear and the State Department people forbad that because we were guests. When I realized we would lose the war was in 1965 when we captured a tunnel complex south of Danang which was very impressive. On the wall was the Playmate of the month from the magazine which had not hit the PX yet. They had it before we did. I knew we were beat. The Senator from Arizona and too damned many of his GOP fellows (and Fox) believe every thing can be solved by war. Of course they wont fight in the wars.
