We are still in the village and have just finished day 4 of quilting. Wow, what an experience. 5 women have formed the quilting group, that will hopefully become a small business. They have done so well and love the quilting. We have almost finished this beautiful quilt of African batiks. We give our strongest thanks to Mrs. Watson, our quilting teacher from Yonges Island, South Carolina who has given of her talents and skills for this entire trip and 4 very long days of teaching. Three of the women have infants and we have found that quilting and infant care seems to work together. To the women of Okurase who are involved - we thank you for trusting us to learn this skill and for putting your heart and soul into it. We look forward to seeing where this takes you.
