We are still yet to have a date for surgery but we have been told - TopicsExpress

We are still yet to have a date for surgery but we have been told a tentative date which is 3 September. We had a very busy week last week, Eliza had further eye testing out at Westmead on Monday which seems to show that she is totally blind in her left eye, no peripheral vision in both eyes and limited sight in the right eye. One would never know, she copes so well. Tuesday Lizey woke not feeling well and by that afternoon she had a touch of Gastro. Wednesday she was worse so I rang the Endocrine team out at Westmead on how to deal with her medication - I had to stress dose her with her steriod medication for illness at 20mg x 4 times a day (usually its 2mg, 2mg, 4mg per day). They asked me to take her to the closest hospital for assessment which was Mona Vale. We spent the day there having blood and urine tests done - which were all fine. They liaised with Westmead and okayed us to come home. Thursday her Endocrine team wanted to see her out at Westmead for an assessment and went through the protocols for illness. Her Anti-Diuretic medication has also decreased significantly during this time as she is dehydrated. So what a normal bout of Gastro was once is totally different to us these days! She is getting better but still not 100%. If you are home tonight watch Channel 7 news, a little friend of Lizeys, Hana, will be on with Charlie Teo - she battles a craniopharyngioma just like Lizey. You dont see much on this tumour as it is very rare. Thanks again for your support, once we have a definite date Ill let you know.
