We are suspicious of someone who says kind things to a persons face and evil things behind that same persons back. But we can be guilty of treating God the same way. We can say good things about God and tell others we believe in Him yet fail to honor Him in our lives. Psalm 78:35-36 They remembered that God was their rock, and the High God their redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. Calling Jesus Lord while failing to do the will of the Father is one way we can weary God with our words (Matthew 7:21). Titus 1:16 says that we may profess that we know God, but our actions may deny that very profession.
