We are to joyfully obey him in life and in death Jesus calls all his followers to a life of radical and costly discipleship. Jesus is not only our Saviour (i.e. the One who makes us whole) but he is also our model. His life teaches us to challenge the religious, economic , social and political powers that be and that his life is a model of suffering servanthood. We are to stoop down to lift others up. We are to befriend the lonely, the despised and the rejected with an open and welcoming heart and mind. We are to show tenderness and kindness in our relationships with others. We are to identify with the poor and the powerless and seek their human rights. We are to love with overflowing and generous love responding to God’s love which he has lavished upon us in Jesus. We are called to be his peacemakers, to love our enemies, to seek to bring the good news of shalom by LIVING a JESUS-CENTRED PRAXIS in our socio-economic, religious and political context in our communities in the 21st century just as Jesus did in first century Palestine
