We are told to forgive our enemies. Does God forgive His enemies? - TopicsExpress

We are told to forgive our enemies. Does God forgive His enemies? Is it possible that God will not forgive those who we have forgiven, as per His instruction, as sons and daughters of God? Were called to love our enemies and forgive our debtors as God has forgiven us. Jesus said we are to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. So how is it that we are licensed to forgive (enemies) those that God Himself wont forgive as per the popular doctrine of eternal conscious torment? It might be that God is actively forgiving His enemies but they resist the reconciliation thats on offer and actively avoid God. God is light, so the enemy scurries away from the light and finds himself in the outer darkness willingly or via self deceit. It is possible, I suppose, that God wants us to demonstrate a standard and that such a standard is suitable for created beings but not the Creator who has to make judgements above our station. For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies. For He does not afflict willingly, Nor grieve the children of men. - Lamentations 3:31-33 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. - Matthew 10:28 And these shall go away to punishment age-during, but the righteous to life age-during. - Matthew 25:46 (Youngs Literal Translation, I was curious) Gods will is that none should perish (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9). The argument is made that God will always get His way. Jesus is said to be the saviour of all men, especially to those who believe and its said that he will draw all, not some, but all men to himself. (1 Timothy 4:10; John 12:32) It would seem to me that the spiritual realm isnt a fixed state, stagnant, forever this or forever that, but a place of motion and progress, destruction, delight and everything else. Im not certain and Im not sure we can be without special revelation as interpretations will vary, a lot.
