We are very pleased to be able to show you a film we have made of #Woven #Textile #Artist Louise Renae Anderson who uses #Ikat dying and a Japanese aesthetic in her blue & white contemporary designs. Louise’s work is concerned with the passage of time and how this may be reflected and incorporated within hand woven textiles. Time also underpins the quality and the skill in using processes and techniques involving traditional methods of dyeing and weaving and natural materials combined with a contemporary approach to design. Louise’s subtle aesthetic is explored through mark making, the breakdown of regular pattern into irregularity, and the beauty of imperfection to create calm contemplative pieces. She sees the repetitive, rhythmical nature of hand weaving as a form of meditation and escape from todays fast-paced society. https://vimeo/74370094
