We are very proud of our F&B team who strive each and every day to provide our guest a truly world class experience!! Today we received the following message from a very satisfied guest to the 9 times Gold Plate winning restaurant Sandalford Wines, Swan Valley, Perth Western Australia and we couldnt resist sharing it with our Facebook friends (surnames and postal address has been removed for privacy reasons) in the hope we can be of service to you again soon: Russell & Karleen C Freshwater, QLD 4870 22 June, 2014 Grant Brinklow Sandalford Wines Dear Grant, I am writing this letter in response to the exceptional service that my wife and I received whilst dining at Sandalford Wines Restaurant, Caversham. We first visited the estate on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 11 2014, hoping that we could possibly be seated for lunch. I was approached by what I could see was a busy gentleman (Brendan Osborne) who politely explained that all dining for the day had been booked out. I then enquired if he could make some personal recommendations as to where we could find alternate dining at such late notice. Even under the pressures of running a restaurant at capacity, Brendan took the time to make a couple of quick telephone calls to enquire on our behalf. He also suggested other places of interest within the region. We followed his recommendations and subsequently had a pleasant lunch and an enjoyable afternoon. Three weeks later my wife and I returned to Sandalford’s Restaurant once again without a booking in hope to be seated for lunch. The same gentleman (Brendan) from three weeks earlier approached us and enquired if we had a booking for lunch. After a brief moment he recognised me from three weeks previous and assured us that if we could wait a short ten minutes at the Cellar Door, he would be able to seat us. I expressed to him that if possible, could we be seated close to the fire place. After a couple of wine tastings we were invited to be seated for lunch. To my delight and somewhat surprise we were seated at a table adjacent to the fire place, yes the warmth was greatly appreciated. We were then introduced to a lovely welcoming young lady who was to be our waitress for lunch. (Unfortunately to no fault of hers I cannot recall her name). She showed genuine interest in making my wife and I feel very welcome and relaxed. In our discussions with her we revealed that we were actually celebrating 21 years of marriage for the weekend. Our lunch orders were taken and my wife requested a special bottle of wine for the occasion. My wife and I were truly enjoying every morsel of lunch the fine wine, great services and comfortable atmosphere. Our waitress who was truly involved in making this happen had the courage and wisdom to approach Brendan to reveal what we were celebrating. She then approached us to inform us that the fine wine which we were so enjoying was to be a gift from Sandalford’s. I must say that my wife and I were and still are, truly humbled by this gracious act of sincere kindness and will forever have fond memories of the occasion. I guarantee that when we return to the Swan Valley I will make a booking to dine at Sandalford’s. For anyone we meet that enquires about dining in the Swan Valley, Sandalford’s will be our first recommendation. In fact the very next day after our lunch we did just that for a group visiting wineries just like us. Grant can you see that this letter of appreciation is relied onto Brendan, the lovely waitress and all the staff at Sandalford’s Restaurant. It is important that great service be recognised and appreciated. Yours sincerely, Russell C
