We are very sad to announce that Goodwill NCW has made the decision to close the Harmony Cafés in Green Bay and Appleton, probably by year’s end. Harmony Café was founded as a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant place to celebrate diversity. We have served thousands of different people through hundreds of events and scores of community partnerships, and affected our region in many positive ways, small and large. Unfortunately, our café business has struggled too much to keep Harmony’s doors open. Our LGBT services will continue at the Goodwill NCW campus, 1800 Appleton Road, Menasha, after Harmony closes, but the Arts & Music program will close at year’s end, too. LGBT Services have been a cornerstone of Harmony Cafe since the beginning, and we will continue to work closely with the LGBT community and our service partners to find the best way forward. Our plan over the next 6 weeks is to make the most of the time we have left with the Harmony Café buildings and our arts & music programs, and celebrate an amazing 10+ years of community collaboration. We will be having a “goodbye” Harmony party towards the end of the year, and will post more information on that soon.
