We are very saddened by the flooding of our emails and facebook - TopicsExpress

We are very saddened by the flooding of our emails and facebook messages pleading for us to rescue dogs... We are well aware of the shelters being full... we are well aware of the many dogs on the streets throughout Florida, all of whom need help. Its with great sadness that we announce our intakes are closed for the remainder of the year and possibly into next year. We simply cannot afford to properly care for the well being of any new dogs we would bring into the Rescue on top of our current obligations. Summer has been very harsh for us financially. We are drowning in debt. We are focusing our efforts for the remainder of the year on paying our debts! We have outstanding vet bills that must be paid. We do not receive free medical care, free dog food, treats, crates, supplies, etc. Sadly, we arent receiving enough in donations to cover all these expenses incurred by the rescue. We are also changing how we do business. Once our bills are caught up, we will only pay CASH for services rendered and products. The debt weve built up is hurting. Rescuing is not free... There is no money tree. In addition to the financial issues, the lack of good foster homes and community involvement has us all very sad. This hurts my heart. With that being said, I want to thank everybody for their continued support. I want to thank our Volunteers for all their continued dedication and hard work! Thank you to those who donate to us financially as well as those who donate dog food and materialistic items. Thank you to all who share and like our posts. Thank you to ALL of you who support us! We fear, by not taking action now to resolve these current issues and to come up with new ideals and viable solutions that wed end up having to close the doors. We are re-structuring and are going to continue our rescue operations to the best of our abilities but community involvement is vital in the work we do. We are hopeful for a bright and positive future. Make no mistake, we arent giving up nor are we closing. We are working towards a better tomorrow! And we are forever grateful to have you beside us. Without donors of monetary/materialistic items, without foster homes, without volunteers, sharing/networking... we simply cannot continue moving forward. It takes the entire community! We ask you to please be patient with us as we re-organize and come up with new ideals to help make us function better and to make us more financially stable! As always, I thank you for your continued and amazing support! Eric Emminger President, Pit Bull Happenings Rescue.
