We are very sorry to inform you of the sad passing of long time congregant Sallie Namkin early this morning after an extended and heroic battle with ovarian cancer. Sallie and her family have been CJCN members since 1982. Through the years she’s held many committee positions as well as holding the office of Sisterhood President. Sallie taught first grade at Haude Elementary in the KISD for 27 years and was a talented costume designer and seamtress. She is survived by her beloved husband Howard and adored children Jeffrey and Rachel, both graduates of the Jacques Sure Religious School. Other surviving family includes her brother and sister-in-law James and Lucinda Green and niece and nephew Jack and Nora Greene of Englewood CO. Sallies brother Bill Green and mother-in-law Norma Namkin both reside in Houston. Aunt and Uncle John and Blanche Partician reside in Conklin, NY. The family requests that donations be made in Sallies memory to Congregation Jewish Community North or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at ocrf.org Rabbi Jonathan S. Siger will be officiating at a memorial service held at Congregation Jewish Community North, (5400 Fellowship Drive, Spring, TX, 77379) Monday, January 20 at 3:00 PM. There will be a minyan service at the home of Rachel Namkin, 8914 Herts Rd, Spring, TX, 77379 Tuesday evening , January 21 at 7:00 PM. Shiva will follow until 9:00 pm.
