We are walking upright and eliminating on our own! While that may seem like a minor accomplishment, it marks a big milestone for mama; she can now spend around 4 hours at a time out of the puppy room being a normal dog because the babies can go longer between meals and do not need her to stimulate them for bathroom breaks. This is also when we begin the very earliest stages of housebreaking by moving the puppies out of the whelping box and into an x-penned area that has both sleeping (blankets) and potty (paper) areas. This area will expand as the pups get better on their legs to help them become mobile and to learn to potty away from their sleeping area (and give them room to play) :)
